Our Techniques
SOT
SOT stands for Sacro Occipital Technique, a chiropractic technique designed to help normalize the relationship between the pelvis and the head.
The Foundation
The integrity of the spine, and the function of the nervous system it protects, begins with the pelvis. This foundation is constantly subjected to the pull of gravity. When stability is lost, it produces effects throughout your body.
The Cranium
Proper control of every cell and tissue of your body is affected by bones of the skull and tension on your spinal cord. Think of your spinal cord as a string on a harp. Is it flexible and healthy? Or stretched and drawn tight?
Blocking the Spine
We use wedge-shaped devices known as “blocks” to help correct your spine and properly “tune” your nervous system. By knowing exactly where to position these blocks, we use the weight of your body to make corrections, naturally.
Safe and Comfortable
By using gravity and your own body to effect correction, new healthier patterns of spinal function can result. Along with safe, consistent results, SOT is known for emphasizing patient comfort.
Gonstead Chiropractic
The most acurate, precise and specific chiropractic adjusting technique in the world. Re-aligning the spine only makes sense when it's done specifically. Adjusting more than 1 - 3 vertebra at a time can actually be a detriment to your health. Ask Dr. Kerszko more about the Gonstead Method of adjusting when you go to the office.
Pediatric Chiropractic
Your children don't just look like you on the outside. That's right, their spines came from the genes of their parents. So why do children need chiropractic check-ups? Imaging the birth process - even a seemingly uneventful birth is very traumatic to the baby. Then, when the child is learning to walk they must fall on their delicate hips and pelvis dozens of times a week! A few years later they fall on their tushes learning to ride a bike or rollerblade. On to sports next and they call it "contact" sports for a reason.
Does it sound reasonable that your child might get a subluxation in their spine sometime between birth and 18 years old? Of course!
It is now recommended that all newborn and toddlers have their spines check for misalignments that may lead to bigger problems in the adult years. Your children don't just look like you on the outside - if you're experiencing spinal or health care issues, chances are - so are they!
Chiropractic changes the lives of our children with conditions such as:
- Asthma
- Bedwetting
- Croup
- Ear Infections (chronic or acute)
- Headaches (including Migraines)
- Sleeplessness
- Hyperactivity
- And many other childhood conditions
If you’ve been to a chiropractor before and prefer to be adjusted in a particular way, let us know. We want you to relax, enjoy and fully benefit from your chiropractic care.
